I am a former, full career soldier who subsequently worked in the security sector up to Operations Director level.
In a desire to spend more time with my family, including my two granddaughters, I decided on a change of career and became an Approved Driving Instructor (ADI).
My Passions
My passion for driving is only surpassed by my passion for motorcycling; I am in fact both a Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) Advanced (Gold) Driver and Motorcyclist.
I am both a member (and Tutor) of the Shropshire and Powys Advanced Riders (SaPAR) group, and a volunteer rider with the Severn Freewheelers Emergency Voluntary Service (SFEVS). SFEVS provides a free, out of hours service delivering blood, human tissue and other essential medical items between NHS facilities in Herefordshire, Gloucestershire, Worcestershire and North Wiltshire.
Elements of advanced driving and motorcycling are transferable to learning to drive e.g. observation, anticipation and planning.
Fitness
In my spare time I strive to maintain my physical fitness via activities like hill walking, weight training and cycling sportives. A number of my cycling sportives are in support of my favoured charities, including: The Royal British Legion, Pilgrim Bandits and Severn Freewheelers EVS.
